Are trees really sleeping
Or are they aware
Of winter attacking
Their branches so bare?

And what of the rocks
All buried in snow,
Do they feel the cold
And want it to go?

We worry 'bout birds
The dogs and the bears
But for trees and rocks
It seems nobody cares.
