A slug on the ground
Slithering slimy and gray.
I'd rather be a honey bee
And fly to a breakfast bouquet.

A skunk all cute and furry
But very, very stinky.
I'd rather be a garden snake
All scaly and inky.

A buzzard circles overhead
A meal of something laying dead.
I'd rather be a hummingbird
and sip from plastic flowers red.

A brilliant shooting star
Zips by and then KABOOM!
I'd rather be more mellow
And long lasting like the moon.
